MY SECOND CANCER CHALLENGE

Apr 14, 2024
4 min read

After my first Cancer Challenge in the early 2000’s (Chapter 6), in 2015 I discovered another lump in my right breast!  During the years of 2000-2005, I was deeply and actively involved in real estate investing, helping to buy a 7-unit property for the family, and buying and selling a variety of properties at every opportunity, and even planning to build a beautiful mansion on Paradise Hill in Lincoln Heights.  So, I’m almost certain that the lump developed from the stress of my multiple AND SOMEWHAT exhausting real estate activities.  Instead of repeating the act of using herbs, like what I had successfully accomplished earlier, I decided to "experiment" (that's the BA Chemistry effect) with Tea Tree Oil, which I thought could “magically” bring the lump to the skin surface for removal at a faster pace.  Unfortunately, I was not familiar enough with Tea Tree Oil (which I later learned should always be diluted), and it burned a hole in the skin of my upper right breast, which eventually became a big one-inch diameter wound by 2017!

After one year, I finally discovered that I didn’t know anything about healing a wound like that, and finally decided to have the wound surgically removed because it kept bleeding and becoming infected.  I was fortunate to find a good specialist at the WOUND TOWERS in West LA in 2018, and both the wound and the lump were removed from my right breast at the same time, and the Lab examination of what was removed from my breast verified that the lump was CANCEROUS.

While I healed well from the surgery, and after about 6 months, I thought that I was well enough to start riding my bike again to buy groceries at my favorite Trader Joe’s. I wore a backpack to bring everything back to the Shumei Hollywood Center on Franklin Avenue, where I was living at the time.  But unfortunately, the strapping of the backpack irritated the stitching at one end of the wound, and it caused the wound to open again, and become what I thought was a “Surgical Site Infection”, and started bleeding again!  This event forced me to revisit my Wound Doctor once again, even though I thought I had seen him for the last time in 2018.  When he looked at it, he immediately told me that the cancer had returned, and referred me (for the second time), to an Oncologist he knew at the Cedar’s Cancer Center, which was EXACTLY who I didn’t ever want to see, but my son and daughter strongly encouraged me and actively made an appointment on my behalf.  My son even traveled out here from Chicago to help me make the “right” decision.!

MY ONCOLOGIST EXPERIENCE

My daughter drove me to my appointment with the Oncologist, and I was DETERMINED Not to take ANY DRUGS that he prescribed, so the EXAMINATION was a bit "COOL", and he explained that the wound will not heal until the cancer under it dies or is removed. He also explained that cancer cells like to eat Estrogen, so he prescribed the drug, Anastrozole, which he said had no side effects, but I didn't believe him. He let me know that other patients of his have had good results with the drug. However, when we went to fill the prescription, I read that it may cause dizziness, and I decided NOT to take it, and instead, did some research and found a list of 7 herbs that DECREASED ESTROGEN IN THE BODY.: Dandelion root, Burdock Root, Passion Flower, Milk Thistle, Raspberry Leaf, Maca, and Chast Tree Berry. Since I already had Dandelion and Burdock Root, I purchased, Passion flowers, milk Thistle, Raspberry Leaf and Maca from my favorite Organic Herb Supplier, and started taking one of them, each day. I had to stop taking the milk Thistle because it made me dizzy. On my second visit to the Oncologist, two months later, I let the oncologist know that I had not taken any of the drug he suggested because of the side-effect of dizziness listed on the container. I also told him that the natural herbs I was taking reduced my body's Estrogen level, and that the wound stopped leaking and was drying up! He was pleased to hear that, but the oncologist further explained that the Anastrozole should not have any side effects, and would specifically prevent the Adrenal Glands, that sit on our Kidneys, from creating Estrogen, since that is one of their major functions, of which I was unaware. With that full explanation, I decided to start taking the small one tablet of Anastrozole, each day, and have taken it for the past 6 month with no side effects. However, I can tell that the wound is steadily drying up, even faster now, and beginning to look something like a "scab over a sore.

I decided today 4/14/2024, that I was going to start taking one teaspoon of the Hoxsey Therapy herbs that I made several years ago.! I'll keep everyone abreast of my progress.

HAPPY HEALING for ALL!
